Baden's framed puzzle. Thank you!
Everyone,
A rewarding week for us here in Hillerød. We had some rough times and some miracles. One of the biggest ones is we toured the castle here. They have the Carl Bloch paintings on display here, so we were very excited. We walked through the chapel, and almost passed a dark little room in the back. One of the sisters stopped, and we realized that all of his paintings we there. The spirit was so strong as we saw beautiful depictions of the Lord's life. It is definantly a place that I want to visit again someday.

The entrance to Narnia.
Monday nights are always hard for us because it is dark, and we usually have to contact on the gågade. we decided to try some Nomas in the area, but none of them were home. Elder Halversen suggested we try a previous investigator who we had been trying to contact. She let us in, and was very happy to see us. She has continued to read the Book of Mormon even though we haven't been teaching her. She had questions on Alma 33 which we did our best to answer. She told us what times were best for her, and is excited for us to come back. This is a big miracle because we didn't know how receptive she would be to us.

Our mission has started a new program for contacting. We are using family history, and President O'Bryant wants us working with family history for 5 to 10 hours a week. We had zone training this week, and were trained on how we implement this in the ward and with our investigators. President said we are one of the first in Europe to try it, and based on what we find it will be used in other countries. Norway is close behind us, and materials and insights will be shared with them in the coming months. This is very exciting, and doors are opening already all over the mission.

Elder Hendriksen and I on splits.
I went on splits with Elder Hendriksen this week in Helsingør. We had to travel over two hours from Zone Training to get to an appointment for dinner. The members home was way out in the middle of no where, and we had to cut across a field to get there. We arrived, and they forgot that they had set up the appointment. This was hard news on both of us. It took us an hour to get to their apartment, but Elder Hendriksen taught me how to make Danish pancakes. Sometimes in life you do a lot of work to help someone else out, and there is little return. As long as you keep pressing forward in faith the blessings will come.

This week we had a lesson with Eduardo. He is the 68 year old man from South America. It is hard for us to teach him the gospel, so we decided to try what we learned at Zone Training. We did lesson one which is to talk about families, and about extended families. At one point Elder Halversen asked about Eduardo's family. He teared up a little bit as he told us about his father and mother. He said they had been married for over 60 years. He told us about how faithful his father was once he got married, and how much he respected his dad for that. Our next lesson with him will hopefully be on family search, and we hope that he can start adding in his family names to it.

This was in one corner tower of the Frederiksberg Castle. It is a clock that shows the rotation of the stars and planets. Uncle Allen and Parker came to mind when I saw it.
Saturday we had the opportunity to eat with the Hansens in Hillerød. After we ate Brother Hansen started telling us about an operation he would have. All of the sudden everyone got up, and Brother Hansen sat on a chair in the middle of the room. I realized that I had missed something when Elder Halversen said that we would be giving a blessing. I was really nervous because I didn't feel that my Danish was ready for it. Elder Halversen coached me, and I was able to do the anointing. He did the blessing in Danish. Both of us were very nervous about it, but we know that the Lord is a God of many languages.
Elder Halversen and I have had several experiences like this that have brought us together as friends and a companionship. In my weekly letter from President O'Bryant he commented about how well our companionship has worked.

At one house two boys about our age were smoking in the front. We tried to talk to them, but they were really rude. They said we should speak English, and that our Danish wasn't very good. They walked into the back, and said we should talk to their parents. We knocked on the door, and the father answered. He was really nice to us, and open to our message. He commented several times that our Danish was pretty good for not being in Denmark that long. He accepted a family search card, and we moved on. 4-5 houses later he was standing in the road and stopped us. He asked if we wanted coffee, and if we could come talk to them for a few minutes. He gave us soda and water, and invited us into the living room.
His wife came out, and they asked us about why we were in Denmark. We talked about families, education, and where we were from. They were amazed that we were two Americans speaking Danish to them. This was a wonderful experience, and the spirit was so strong as we talked with them. We hope to return soon, and share the gospel with them.
Thank you for your prayers,
Ældste Francis
