Moroni 7:13 - October 12, 2015

Moroni 7:13 "But behold, that which is of God inviteth and enticeth to do good continually; wherefore, every thing which inviteth and enticeth to do good, and to love God, and to serve him, is inspired of God."

and now it means so much more because I am in Denmark.

This has been an exciting week for us here in Hillerød. One of the biggest things is the cold. I started wearing thermals after dinner because of the cold and wind. Several times this week I wondered if my hands would make it because they were so cold while we were biking. This is just the calm before the storm and the real cold that should come in December.

We had a really good week with our investigators. Martin was doing really well, and was so grateful when we showed him how to watch conference online. Pernille read the Frelsesplanen pamphlet we gave her, and had several great questions on repentance and the three kingdoms. Both of these lessons went really well, an we hope that they will both come to church next week.

While we were out knocking this week we met a nice gentleman Johan. He is 80, and lives by himself in his childhood home. We talked to him for about an hour, and he told us about many of the things he has done. He lived in the US as a child and teenager, and then moved back to Denmark several years after the war. He talked about his job as an officer with the Danish shipping company, and all the places he has traveled. After inviting us in he showed us his cane collection (one of his favorites has a sword in it), and many of his stamps. I thought about my small collection at home as he showed us stamps from all over the world. When we left he gave us a small envelope to keep which we were really grateful for. It is fun to look at the pictures and dates on them. Almost all of them are Danish which is why we enjoy them so much.

This week we got a text from President O'Bryant asking us to dinner. We got there, and wondered why they invited us and not our district because another district was there. Before we left we found out that they had texted the wrong missionaries, and were expecting the Gladsaxe ones. This was really awkward, but they were kind and welcome to us anyways.

The Rosenkilde Family with Elders Kinch and Willardson. They feed us about once a month, and are a wonderful family.

There is a family in the ward who has a small plot of land. They ask us over for service, and we help fix it up. We have been there for the last two weeks trying to help them get it all done. It is a little different because each time we go we start work on more projects, but never finish the ones we started the week before. We have an appointment with them this week, and hope that we will finish all the projects that they have started. They have chickens and ducks, and I thought about our farm at home. Baden, I hope you are taking good care of them.

I bought a backpack because of splits. Sam and Papa would love it.

Each day we are working hard here in Denmark. Winter is definently coming soon. Our apartment is very dark in the morning when the alarm goes off, and each day the suns comes up a little later.
