Everyone,
My joy is full as I have worked this week. Yesterday was incredible. I can't explain in full detail how spiritually high Elder Shuppy and I feel right now. We were talking to the members before church started when one of our investigators Meratu walked in WITH his uncle. Both of us were so surprised because we hadn't expected them to come. We translated sacrament meeting for them, and afterwards they asked when we could come to teach them. The branch was really kind to them, and hopes that they will come again.
Closer to dinner time we went knocking. I didn't feel right about where we were, so we decided to do some stop bys on the southern end of town. First one we did was Henriette. She wasnt' there for our planned appointment, and we couldn't seem to get in contact with her after that. The window to her apartment was open, so we knew someone was home. No one answered when we knocked, but just before we left she opened up to us. Our lesson with her was on the Restoration. The Spirit was really strong as we taught, and we were able to answer all of her questions. She said her oldest daughter accepted the Mormons bog that we left last time, so our next appointment will be with both of them.
Michael T is doing really well. This was the second time that I have met with him. Our lesson was on Frelsesplanen, and he asked some tough questions. He has a strong belief in the Bible, so he sometimes asks us about biblical teachings. We committed him to come to church Easter Sunday, and our next appointment is tomorrow.
Birte was an older investigator Elder Shuppy used to teach here in Frederikshavn. She hasn't been able to meet for the last several weeks, but we met with her last Tuesday. She told us that she doesn't really want anything to do with becoming a member. This was really sad, but I felt impressed to teach her the lesson that we had planned. It was on Frelsesplanen, and the Spirit came as we taught. We ended with the three kingdoms, and she had lots of questions about them. She grew up a Jehovah's Witness, and doesn't like their teachings at all. Upon learning that we don't believe that those who aren't members are "cast off" she got really happy.
Our day in Skagen was amazing as usual. Within the first hour of us knocking there we had given away two Mormons Bøger which is all that we had. The two people we gave them to are very positive, and were excited to start reading before our next visit.
G is doing great. The lesson with him was on the Restoration. He was a little hesitant through the whole thing. Towards the end he asked about the line of authority with the Priesthood. We explained that it is a direct link all the way to Jesus Christ. After that he got a big smile on his face, and said he would start reading in Mormons Bog. G always says he wants to change, but he needs friends that don't do drugs. We are trying to have John meet with him because we know that the two will become fast friends.
Our newest investigator is Debra from Greenland. She has lived in Denmark for almost twenty years, so she has great Danish. We said that our message was on families, and she opened up to us. She is excited to know more, and we hope to follow up this week.
It feels like spring here. There are flowers everywhere. In the field next to the library there are purple and yellow ones. At almost every house they have a little potted flower next to the front door. Easter is also very big here. All the students have this week and next Monday off. Lots of families are going on vacation.
