Week 5 - Final MTC Letter

This week has been really crazy. The biggest thing is that we got our travel plans!! We leave at 3:30 from the MTC, fly to JFK, and then land in Copenhagen at 7 am (Danish time). We are all so excited, and yesterday we made little comments on what we will be doing in Denmark.

Some things that we thought were interesting. One of our teachers said the only entertainment we have is food and a dictionary. We found some statistics on MTC life. 50% study 33% sleep 11% meal 6% other 90% of our day is productive time. Sister Paulson started talking about buns one day, and Elder Jenson got really excited because the rest of us call them rolls. Birthdays are huge in Denmark, and for Sister Paulson's they taught us a dansk song. It was really cool, and had five or six verses.

We taught a TRC lesson on skype. It was really cool to meet someone who was living in Denmark. This activity humbled all of us, because they speak so quickly.

Brother Casper taught us a really cool lesson yesterday. He said that everything our teachers were trying to teach us is what they wished they had known when they served. It was really cool to hear that from him. We all want to be better elders, and help the people of Denmark.

We have learned some heavy material this week. One grammar principle is inversion. When you have a dependent clause before an independent one then you switch the subject and verb of the independent clause. Efter det, kan vi har evegt liv. Kan is the verb and vi is the subject. This translates literally: After that can we have eternal life. We tried for over an hour to learn this principle, and our teacher said that it wouldn't come until we heard it in Denmark. One good thing this week was that we were reading, and I started translating from englsk to dansk. I was really happy because I knew that the language was starting to stick.

We had two great devotionals this week. Sundays was on following all mission rules, and Tuesdays was on teaching people the importance of the message. The spirit was so strong, and my desire to teach those is Denmark has strengthened.

Thank you for the letters and packages. They give me a spiritual boost when I read them. I won't write again until Denmark.

The classroom! 18M

The one that looks like a window with trees is the ceiling of our classroom. I folded a couple origami birds, and we hung them up.

Some of the Elders in our district got some cool ties from home. We had a draft, and wore that tie for a day. Yes, I am wearing a USA one with baseball players.
