3 Nephi 9:13EverEveryone,
| Light at 9pm! |
Everyone,
Lots of things happened to us this week here in Frederikshavn. Our zone goal is to find 8 new investigators in four weeks. Elder Shuppy and I worked really hard, and we found 4. We are so thankful for this blessing, and we want to continue to help these new found friends progress.
Michael is still doing great. We had a lesson on the Restoration. At the end he committed to come to church. A few minutes before Sacrament started he walked in! We were so happy to see him. The best part was guest class. After watching "The Restoration" film we had our new members share their testimonies. The spirit was so strong, and Michael said that he wanted to come again.

We knocked in an American looking area in Hjørring. Big houses with a prominent front door, in the actual front of the house. We didn't have to search around the backyard to find the door. One man was really rude to us, so that was hard. The next house was were we met Jesper (Not the Jesper from the past few weeks). He invited us in, and we started talking about the Restoration. Turns out that three years ago he had met missionaries in Aalborg. He already had a Mormons Bog, and said that he wanted to know more. Hjørring finally has investigators again.
After our district meeting we went to knock in Sindal. We knocked on Sørens door. He is a 97 year-old-man. He doesn't like Americans, but he doesn't have visitors, so he let us in. We had a great discussion on Jesus Christ with him, and he talked about his family. It was a fun experience in a little town.

Meratu was happy to see us again. He expressed interest in coming back to our church, but the language barrier makes it hard. Our hope is that we can teach his uncle again, and his uncle can translate for Meratu. We will see what happens in the next few weeks because this week is Easter for him.
A sad story, but Jesper and Malene are off of date. As far as we know they have broken up, and Malene is with her parents. It sounded like they would be getting back together, but we aren't totally sure. We taught Jesper, and he is still excited. He asked about baptism, and Elder Shuppy did an amazing job at teaching the word of wisdom. Jesper was quite for a minute, and then said, "So I need to stop smoking then." He said it as a statement. He is amazing, and we have already started to find ways to help him quit.

Saturday was a big day for us in Skagen. Kelt and Thor are two new investigators there. Kelt is about 65, and Thor is in his 20s. We had great conversations with both of them. I may have mentioned a D who lives there. Turns out his name is Danny. He let us in, and said that he had been reading in Mormons Bog. That was fun to hear. He was quite as we taught Frelsesplanen. At the end he asked one question on the three kingdoms, and then accepted it all. We asked if he believed in Mormons Bog, and he said that he hoped that it was all true. That was great to hear. Seren was on pause, but she saw us walking. She had questions for us, and accepted a Restoration pamphlet. It is a real language barrier, so it is hard to teach her.

I learned some fun things this week. The clouds follow a line around Frederikshavn. They are to the north or to the south. That was a blessing this week because we had lots of sunlight. One day we had three appointments one right after another (Skagen). They all gave us soda, and after the third we felt awful, and I vowed that I wouldn't drink soda after my mission. Not sure if that will stay, but it was something this week.
Gud være med I til vi ses igen!
Elder Francis
