Our District

Everyone,

This was a great week here in Frederikshavn. The biggest blessing was watching Conference. The branch thought that we would know how to set up the satellite, so they had us try for two hours. We had to leave for an appointment, but they were able to set it up before Conference started. The signal was really bad and everyone ended up watching it in English from the internet. Danes are very good at English, but we think that some of the Conference language is hard for them to understand. During Priesthood Session Elder Uchtdorf made the Chewbacca joke, and Elder Shuppy and I were the only ones laughing.

Contacting brought great blessings this week. Last week we met someone who was interested in our message on finding God in their lives. We called them, but they never answered. Thursday they stopped us on the street wondering why we hadn't contacted them. They are still interested, and we have an appointment with them this week.

Another miracle occurred when we met Meratu. Elder Shuppy was able to talk with his uncle who has great English. We will be seeing him on Saturday. Meratu may be on pause now because of the language barrier.

This week we met a lady named Pernille. We knocked into her in the evening. She wasn't immediately interested in our message. By using the words that the Spirit put into our mouths she accepted a Mormons Bog. It surprised her that we would be in Denmark for our church. Knocking in Frederikshavn generally has lots of door slams, but it was great to find someone who would listen.

Splits was this week in Aalborg. Biking over the fjord was a great experience to go work. We didn't have lots of success, but I got to know the district a little better. There are eight Elders in our district. Six of them work in Aalborg, and Elder Shuppy and I are in Frederikshavn.

My favorite session of conference was the Saturday Morning Session. We were able to watch it live at 6pm our time. Several of the talks answered several questions that I had. My favorite was by Kevin R Duncan. "We are all Saul like individuals with Paul like potential.
