Doctrine and Covenants 9:8 - Week 4

Everyone,

This week has been really busy for us here in Hillerød. First off, winter is coming! It has started to freeze at night, and in the mornings everything is wet and cold. When I say freeze, I mean -1 or -2 degrees Celsius.

We had zone conference on Thursday of this week. It was so fun to see several of my MTC friends, and here about all of their experiences. 

During zone conference we learned about repentance, and the importance of it in our teaching. As a mission we are working on teaching it clearly, so that each of our investigators knows how important it is. The spirit was really strong as we watched clips that President O'Brient had from the apostles. Afterwards we got really excited to go back to our area to try what we had learned.

There was a baptism in our ward for a boy named Joshua. He turned 8, and was baptized by his brother Isak who is turning in his papers. It reminded me of Baden, and what a special time that was for all of us a few months ago.

Knocking this week went really well. We met some very nice people who actually talked to us. One guy said that we could come back, and teach him. This made us really happy because we have been trying to find more investigators for the last month or so. Hopefully he will be open to our message.

I had my thirty days training this week. It was incredible because our whole MTC district got together for it. Elder Halverson and I had to leave at 7:15 in order to make it down in time. Everyone was doing really well, and we heard lots of great stories. One Elder got stiff armed by a post man when he accidently swerved while on his bike. Another Elder payed 300 Kroner for an umbrella (A normal price is about 100 Kroner). This last one we thought was funny because we have two extra in our apartment which we could have given him.

Doing Helping Hands Service

For service this week we did Helping Hands. We wore yellow vests, and helped in a retirement home. We took a gentleman out for a walk, and bought sodas for a lady. both were very grateful for what we did. It was nice to help someone in need, and really see how your actions can make a difference.

It is hard to describe how delicious the Danish food is. You are all missing out!

We had dinner at the Bishops house this week. They were very kind to us, but the best part was dessert. Sliced fruit in a cup, and then scoops of ice cream on top with chocolate straws. It was so good! One last thing before I go. American pastries don't come close to the Danish ones. I had three this week, and they are wonderful.
