Mosiah 3:4‏ - February 29, 2016

A goodbye to Hillerød and Frederiksborg Slot
Mosiah 3:4 For the Lord hath heard thy prayers, and hath judged of thy righteousness, and hath sent me to declare unto thee that thou mayest rejoice; and that thou mayest declare unto thy people, that they may also be filled with joy.

Everyone,

Elder Shuppy and I are working really hard up here in Frederikshavn. This week we knocked over 250 doors, and found several potentials. We are both really young in missionary terms, but the Lord is really blessing us with what to say.

Some things about my new companion. He comes from FRANCIS, Utah. Danes can't say his name unless they know really good English. There are six in his family, and he is the youngest.

Frederikshavn is the promised land of Denmark. We live above a fish shop close to the gågade, and can see the harbor from the windows. Our area has Skagen in it which is the northern most city in Denmark. There are so many missionaries who want to serve up here. Yesterday in church I met the branch, and they are amazing. The members want us to start having lessons in their homes with our investigators. This is amazing news for us, and something that is different from the Allerød ward.

Helaman 12:23‏ - February 22, 2016

Helaman 12:23‏ - Therefore, blessed are they who will repent and hearken unto the voice of the Lord their God; for these are they that shall be saved.

Final District picture.

Everyone,
Transfers were today which is why I am emailing so late. President sent me to the furthest area from Hillerød by train which is Frederikshavn with Elder Shuppy. He is in the same MTC group as Elder Reed was. He comes from FRANCIS, UTAH!

Our area is on the tip of Jylland, and includes the highest point in Denmark, Skagen. I was traveling for most of today, and spent over an hour by myself between several stops. The Elder who was supposed to be with me to Aalborg missed the train. It is a weird feeling when you don't have a companion.

We need to talk.-God - February 15, 2016

Church in Skævinge

Everyone,

Elder Pike and I have seen some amazing miracles this week. Here is one that I sent to President in my weekly email.

We decided to knock in Allerød after district meeting in order to save time with traveling. Elder Beck was with me when we found the street to knock. This doesn't happen very often, but the first door that we knocked let us in. It was an 90-year-old man named Finn. He knew who we were, and already had a Mormons Bog, Liahona, and a book on Mormons. He knew who Joseph Smith was, and asked us a few church history questions. This wasn't the best part though. Through our discussion he asked us some Biblical questions which were rather hard. Most of them were on what certain scriptures said. He asked about John 3:16-17. This is were the miracle occured.
The day before we had a trainride up to Vejby for an appointment. I decided to memorize scriptures in Dansk on the way up and back. For some reason I chose John 3:16-17, and was able to get it in both English and Dansk (It isn't very long). I recited it for Finn, and I felt a special Spirit. This happened while knocking, and it was really amazing to use my Dansk that I had learned the day before.

Martin is doing great. We are trying to meet with him several times each week, but it has been difficult. this week we plan on teaching him Visdomsordet. He is still excited for his baptismal date, so we are happy about that.

Matthæusevangeliet 5:16‏ - February 8, 2016

Lookout point.
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Everyone,

We had a very busy week. It filled up with appointments which was wonderful because the week before we didn't have as many. An update with Martin. We had another great lesson with him, and he is committed to the 23 of April for his baptism. It is still a few months away, but he needs some time to prepare for the covenants he will make. It is amazing for me to see how far he has come from the first time that I met him.
Our eating appointment is the door which is covered by the truck.

Richardt had to fix our bathroom door, so we counldn't be at our apartment for two days. We continued to work in our area, but had to travel to Helsingør to sleep. It worked out really well because we could do splits with them. I had Elder Kennedy who has only been in the land for 4 weeks. We had a wonderful time together. Kevin got along great with Elder Kennedy. They talked about sports, and the upcoming superbowl. The lesson was in English which wasn't too scary. It was on the temple, and Kevin told us that he wants to go which is wonderful news.

Alma 7:14 - February 1, 2016

Waiting at a rainy bus stop...

Alma 7:14  Now I say unto you that ye must repent, and be born again; for the Spirit saith if ye are not born again ye cannot inherit the kingdom of heaven; therefore come and be baptized unto repentance, that ye may be washed from your sins, that ye may have faith on the Lamb of God, who taketh away the sins of the world, who is mighty to save and to cleanse from all unrighteousness.
Thanks, Uncle Tom, Aunt Debra and family!

Everyone,

They say to save the best for last, but when it is the only lesson you teach then it comes first. We have our investigator Martin who has read Mormons Bog several times, and has had missionaries for 5 years. Elder Pike and I planned a great lesson with him with the hope that he would progress, or we would put him on pause. Our lesson was on the Holy Ghost. We tried to talk about who he is, and how he can help us in our lives. Then came the big part. We extended a baptisimal invitation to him, and he said yes right then. Both of us couldn't believe it because we had expected him to say no. Our plan is to start teaching him twice a week, so that we can help him be ready by his baptisimal date.

Speak of the Savior - January 25, 2016

Elder Francis and Elder Pike

Everyone,

The beginning of this week was really slow for us. We taught Anne Marie, and finished up some of her family history work. She is so happy that we could help her with it. While we were there she showed us two of the bedrooms in her house. They were full of Legos, and in one corner she had a Lego train. She buys sets for her grandkids, and when they come they build them. Elder Pike and I couldn't believe how many she had. Next time we go I will see if I can take a picture of them.

We did lots of calling this week to potentials and old investigators. For the ones that we couldn't call we stopped by their addresses. Several of them had moved, but we did find one who is interested in our message again. When we had time we contacted and knocked. We have two potentials who live in Hillerød, and we hope that with the Spirit we can help them to progress.

Tredje Nefi 9:14‏ - January 18, 2016

Elder Pike and Elder Francis at a bus stop.

Yea, verily I say unto you, if ye will come unto me ye shall have eternal life. Behold, mine arm of mercy is extended towards you, and whosoever will come, him will I receive; and blessed are those who come unto me.

Everyone,

We have worked really hard this whole week. Everynight we come back home really tired. Almost every day we have had to walk several kilometers, and run for at least one bus. Elder Pike is a great companion. He is from Bluffdale, Utah, and is the oldest of three kids. He has taught me a lot about mission work including all of the paperwork.

This week we spent several hours going through old records. One of them had a street name and the person's first name, and that was it. You would think that missionaries would write someone's complete address down. We have quite a stack of people that we can't find, so we made a dead file for those. Heavenly Father has really started to bless us as we have cleaned up the records.
