Behold, I say unto him, he exalts himself and does not humble himself sufficiently before me; but if he will bowdown before me, and humble himself in mighty prayerand faith, in the sincerity of his heart, then will I grant unto him a view of the things which he desires to see.
We had another great week in Horsens. Elder Merrill is an incredible missionary, and is learning the language quickly. We have had lots of fun this week working in our area together, and trying out some new finding ideas.
We had a lesson with Søren who was contacted by Elder Gardner and I. He lived down the road from the church building in Skive. Turns out he is trying to quit using tobacco right now, and he is a little stressed about it. He accepted a Mormons Bog from us, and committed to read Alma 32. He has asked us to wait a few weeks until he has overcome his addiction before we can come back, so that is a little sad. This lesson did help Elder Merrill when we talked about it afterwards.
We met with a less active named Torben and his girlfriend Sara. Sara invited us over to talk with them after we contacted her on the street. After chatting and getting to know them for a bit we found out that they will be moving into Horsens soon. We offered to come help, and they happily accepted. Right now they live about 30 minutes away from Horsens by bike. We taught them Frelsesplanen, and they loved it. Sara said that it all makes sense. It put everything into perspective for them.
Zone training was in Fredericia. We discussed teaching the plan of salvation, and how we can help our investigators understand why it is relavent for them. The Zone Leaders came up on splits afterwards. We had lots of fun together. We went and visited a member who was in the hospital. He was happy to see us, and thanked us for coming to visit him. We also stopped by a member that Elder Weese spent his first Christmas with. They were happy to see him again after almost 16 months.
We spent part of a day out in Juelsminde. We went to visit a positive potential, but they weren't interested. Instead we went knocking in an area down the road. An older lady invited us in to talk. She had lots of random questions for us, and quickly moved from one to another. At the end she suddenly said that she would like to visit our church, and asked for an address and times. When we left Elder Merrill was excited that we had been let in, and that there are some people who will talk to us about our message.
Because it was 5th Sunday they had all of the missionaries, Forrest, and our ward mission leader speak in Sacrament. It went well for all of us. The best one was Elder Merrill. Many of the members came up to him afterwards, and complimented him on his Danish after only 2 weeks in the land. 2 members came up to him, and asked him if he knew a David Christensen. Turns out he is in Elder Merrills stake. Brother Christensen was companions with one of the members many years ago, and baptized the other member. It was cool to see that connection.
Our combined 3rd hour was one of the best meetings I have been to on my mission. The bishopbric taught the group about prayer. They reminded everyone about the previous 5th Sunday, and how the topic was on fasting. The Spirit was incredible as they taught how we need to pray, and how fasting and prayer work together. At the end the Bishop had tears in his eyes as he committed the ward to fast together next Sunday for a few members who are in need of special help. I felt grateful to serve in the ward here with 3 spiritual giants in the bishopbric.
